Present Simple vs Present Continuous
Use the Present Simple for habits and facts ("She walks to school"). Use the Present Continuous for actions happening right now ("She is walking to school").
Subject–Verb Agreement
A singular subject takes a singular verb; a plural subject takes a plural verb. "The list of items is on the table" — "list" is singular, so use "is".
Articles: A, An, The
Use "a" before consonant sounds, "an" before vowel sounds, and "the" when referring to a specific, already-known noun.
Past Tense Irregular Verbs
Irregular verbs don't take "-ed" in the past tense. "Go" becomes "went", not "goed". These must be memorized individually.
