Summary in English
Prospero, Duke of Milan, loved his books, so his brother Antonio ran the state. The treacherous Antonio joined Alonso, King of Naples, and set Prospero and his baby daughter Miranda adrift in a broken boat. The loyal Lord Gonzalo secretly put food, clothes and Prospero's books in it. They reached an enchanted island where Prospero, a great magician, freed the good spirits, led by Ariel, from the witch Sycorax's spell. Her ugly son Caliban became his servant.
Years later, Alonso, his brother Sebastian, Antonio, Prince Ferdinand and Gonzalo sailed near the island. Prospero raised a tempest, but made sure no one was hurt. Ferdinand was separated from the others, and Ariel led him to Prospero and Miranda. The young people fell in love. Prospero tested Ferdinand by making him carry logs.
Meanwhile Antonio and Sebastian plotted to kill Alonso, but Ariel woke the king just in time. Ariel troubled the plotters until they repented. Prospero revealed himself, and Alonso begged for forgiveness. He was overjoyed to find his son alive and engaged to Miranda. Prospero forgave his enemies, set Ariel free, gave up magic and returned to Milan.
