Vargshikshak Diary is run by Amol Ramrao Kamble through englishresources.in. It helps class teachers in Maharashtra keep attendance, marks and school records. This page explains what we store and why.
The app is for teachers. Students and parents do not create accounts. A teacher enters information about the students in their own class, on behalf of their school, to do their official work.
About the teacher: name, email address, mobile number, password (stored encrypted), plan and payment records.
About students, entered by the teacher: name, roll number, gender, date of birth, parents' names, parent mobile number, General Register number, Saral ID, PEN, APAAR ID, category (for scholarship lists), attendance, marks, remarks, and whether certain documents have been submitted.
We never store Aadhaar numbers or bank account numbers. The app only records whether a document has been submitted (yes or no).
Only to show the teacher their own class records, registers, reports and certificates. We do not sell data, show advertising, or share student information with anyone. Each teacher can see only their own class.
On our web server (Hostinger), over an encrypted HTTPS connection. A copy is also kept on the teacher's own phone so the app works without internet. We keep rolling daily backups for 7 days to protect against accidental loss.
When a teacher scans a register page or uploads a file to add students, the file is read only to pick out student names. Excel, CSV and PDF files are read on the teacher's own phone. Photos are either read on the phone, or sent over an encrypted connection to our text-reading service provider (Anthropic) to read the names, and are not stored by us. The teacher checks and edits the names before anything is saved.
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not see or store card, UPI or bank details. We keep the payment ID, amount and date.
We send a few service emails to teachers who create an account: a welcome email with help to get started, and reminders before the free trial ends. We do not sell or share email addresses. To stop these emails, reply STOP to any of them or write to oscaramol051279@gmail.com.
A teacher can ask us to delete their account and all class data at any time by emailing oscaramol051279@gmail.com. We delete it within 30 days.
Student information is entered by teachers for school record-keeping, which is the purpose for which schools already hold it. Teachers should follow their school's and the Education Department's instructions about student data.
